Luftbild Eckernförde - Die Geschichte des Marinestützpunkts Eckernförde | Die Geschichte des Marinestützpunkts Eckernförde reicht weit zurück und ist tief in der deutschen Militärgeschichte verwurzelt. Bereits am 9. Juni 1913 wurde in Eckernförde ein Schießstand für Torpedos der Kaiserlichen Marine eingeweiht, der als Außenstelle der „Torpedowerkstatt Kiel-Friedrichsort“ diente. Die natürliche Tiefe der Eckernförder Bucht und ihre geschützte Lage machten sie zu einem idealen Standort für die Erprobung von Torpedos.
